SHE wanted sheepskin boots, not snakeskin boots.

A woman has been given the fright of her life after she narrowly avoided disturbing an eastern brown snake that was enjoying the inside of her Ugg boot.

Snake Catchers Adelaide's Rolly Burrell said the woman went to grab her Uggs from outside her home in the city's south and saw a brown tale slither inside her boot.

"It saw her and shot into her Ugg boot," he said.

"We picked up the shoe, tipped it out and dropped it into the bag. It was pretty easy to do."

And there's a lesson in that for all of us -- apparently snakes enjoy hiding out in shoes and boots.

Mr Burrell said last year they had been called out to remove a snake that was inside a gumboot, which was hung upside down on a rack.
