Business heats up
YOU can't always get what you want. But you can think ouside the square and find a pathway to success.
After becoming a mother, former early childhood teacher Natasha Wenke decided she simultaneously wanted to run a business and be a stay-at-home mum. So with some smart thinking, you could say she literally lit up her world with some bright ideas.
In 2010 Natasha created Melting Moments, making candles and soy wax melts. Now she has extended her business with locally made oil burners created by a ceramic artist she met at Wallace House Arts and Crafts.
Everything is going to plan and she feels now's the time to share experiences with other home-based business owners.
"We started our meetings this year," she said.
"And we will be having them at Ivory Palms Resort restaurant at Noosaville on the last Tuesday of the month."
Natasha is working to make it all happen with her friend in a similar situation, Carly Bakas.
Carly is busy running her Beach by Carly business, featuring shells on canvas and as a young mother, she also understands the challenges.
They hope to style the meetings as casual affairs where time out with coffee and cake is stimulated with talks by professional people who can smooth out an often bumpy business road. "But we would like to brainstorm first and find out what people want," said Natasha.
"If you are a home-based business please come and join our network meeting,"
