A CELEBRATION of the tropics, the South Pacific Food & Wine Festival is an exciting four day food and wine festival set to take place from March 14-17, 2012.

Supported by major hotels and resorts located on Denarau Island, including the Sofitel Fiji Resort & Spa, the event offers a rare opportunity to see and experience a modern take on South Pacific cuisine, as well as secrets of some of the region's best chef talent and the latest trends in food and wine.

Sofitel's award winning executive chef Brendon Coffey will headline at the resort's own fine dining restaurant V as the festival welcomes six celebrity chefs to Denarau Island including Peter Gordon, Michael Meredith, Robert Oliver, Peter Kuruvita, Manu Feildel and Ben O'Donoghue.

Multi-award winning chef, author and restaurateur, Peter Gordon will arrive from London to take over chef Coffey's Fijian kitchen at V restaurant on March 14 for one of the festival's special signature dinner events to help kick start the event.

Famous for his fusion style food in London, but with strong ties to his native New Zealand, Gordon will create a four-course degustation dinner with matching wines in an intimate setting at the elegant Sofitel resort.

At the end of the week, Sofitel will then host the festival finale, a Taste of the Pacific gala dinner, to officially close the event. This event will be headlined by all six celebrity chefs for a spectacular one off dining experience.

The three-day adult festival pass includes a signature lunch daily in a designated restaurant, access to all guest chef presentations in the festival kitchen theatre, access to all culinary workshops and master classes plus . Daily themed coffee breaks and morning teas are also included.

Children aged up to 12 can attend for free (excluding lunch and kids cooking workshops, and children's lunches will be available for purchase).
