SUNSHINE Coast Daily staff walked off the job today.
We didn't quit, we just took an hour to take a walk/run around Maroochydore and Alexandra Headland as part of our Kick The Kilos campaign.
All staff arrived at work dressed in their best gym clothes for Activewear Wednesday before deputy editor Damian Bathersby lead the group on a 4km walk.
Communities journalists Jorgia White and Melanie Keyte said they enjoyed starting the work day with a little bit of exercise.
"I feel so much more energised and ready for the day," Jorgia said.
"I really love the idea, it's a great way to stretch your legs and have a social chat with your workmates while burning calories," Melanie added.
"It's easy to gain a few extra kilos over winter, so I think this is a good way to get back in shape ahead of summer."
Business reporter Nicky Moffat chose to join the running group instead of just walking and was happy with how she went.
"We ran to Alex Headland beach and back," she said.
"The waves crashing was an awesome reward.
"I didn't make it all the way but ran about 3km, which is a good run for me.
"The others looped back and picked me up - it was heaps more fun going in a group. Next week I'll go a bit further - hopefully by the end of the 12 weeks I'll be doing five or six kilometres easy."
All Sunshine Coast residents are encouraged to get involved in the Kick The Kilos campaign by downloading the free Strava app and joining the Sunshine Coast Daily club.
