Geoff Cole leads way in tennis
NOOSA Tennis Club's in-house night competitions are heading into their finals with the final few weeks of matches.
In the Wednesday night B-grade competition, teams two and three are both on 387.
Their rivalry for first place has been pushing both teams to their limits to earn that first position on the leader board.
This mini competition within the Wednesday night standings has produced some excellent tennis which has lifted the overall calibre of all of the players on the night.
Team Two consists of Russel Manson, Georgia McMahon and John Humphries, while Team Three includes Mark Roderique, Ptor Gjestland and Heath Moore.
Not far behind these two teams is Team One, including Geoffrey Cole, Tony Cush and Jake McMahon.
The Wednesday night individual leaderboard shows that Cole is first, with Caleb Greive and Humphries close behind him.
Cole is very proud of his ranking, because after being involved in these night fixtures each year ever since he moved to Noosa some 13 years ago he has displayed great enthusiasm and commitment to the competitions at the club.
The Thursday night A Reserve individual standings have been as competitive as ever, especially now that the finals are creeping up again.
In the lead we have John Fergusson, followed closely by Phil Robertson, and Brent Peters third.
Thursday night's Rod Larsen is the most improved player of the season.
An incredible achievement, since he has come back to the sport only recently after 20 years.
He is currently coming third in the averages of the entire group by pacing himself and slowly working his way up the rankings.
