Noosa's Golden Girls share laughs
A SOLO lifestyle may be a perfect fit for some, but for others it can be lonely and expensive.
After her daughter left home, and having witnessed the challenges faced by other older people after the death of a spouse, 50-year-old Sue Campbell decided to create her own solution.
Sue's inspiration came from the popular 1980s American sitcom The Golden Girls, in which four previously married women live together and share fun, friendly and caring experiences.
"I'm looking to start a group for 40-plus women in the Noosa area who find themselves in the situation of wanting/needing to do the share accommodation thing," Sue said. "But who may be hesitant about sharing with strangers."
The group, called Golden Girls, aims to network for future housemates over regular social catch-ups.
"It's an opportunity to meet other people who are compatible," Sue said. "If you are a thoughtful and awesome woman looking to meet future roomies or just make new friends, contact goldengirls@gmail.com."
