MOVE over Sandra Bullock, Rockhampton's Kelsie Maclean is on her way to becoming the next Miss Congeniality.
The 15-year-old Rockhampton State High School student has dreamt of being a police officer since she can remember, but the bubbly teen also hopes to one day break into the modelling industry.
In August, Kelsie will compete in the Miss Teen Australia beauty pageant regional heat in Mackay.
Kelsie said three girls from each region would then be chosen to compete in Cairns.
"The top 10 girls go to Fiji," she said.
"If I got that I would honestly do a back flip."
With her 16th birthday the day after the competition, Kelsie said she was hoping she would have good luck on her side.
In the competition, open to girls between the ages of 16 and 19, entrants have to take part in a personal interview, as well as the swimwear and evening gown categories.
Kelsie said she had been practising questions with her mum at home.
"It's about self-development and building confidence," she said.
Kelsie encouraged Rockhampton to get behind her by voting for her in the people's choice category.
To do so, text TEEN 197 to 199 010 90.
"Even if I don't win it's just a great experience to have that opportunity," she said.
"I can't wait."
