Coast teams shine in water polo

NOOSA water polo players showed fine form at the Queensland Country Water Polo Championships in Toowoomba from February 19-21.

Noosa Water Polo players represented the Sunshine Coast at the Queensland Country Water Polo Championships.

Noosa water polo players showed fine form at the Queensland Country Water Polo Championships in Toowoomba from February 19-21.

Three Sunshine Coast men’s teams (two A and one B) and two women’s teams (one A and one B) competed against teams from the Darling Downs, Toowoomba, Roma, Rockhampton, Mackay and the Gold Coast.

Many Noosa players were representing Sunshine Coast.

In the Men’s A team were Marco Magasic, Nick Sell, Jono Parr, Tom Snels and Jayden Lee-Williams. In Men’s B: Raff Perischetti, Troy Park, Nick Snels, Nino Magasic and Kyano Maddock.

Women’s A: Lily Merlo, Georgina Taylor, Kate Lee-Williams.

Women’s B: Kelly Murphy, Kaitlyn O’Leary, Kate Houston, Tiana Andersen, Sam Baillie, Tyler Baillie, Brideen Twigger, Jess Lundgren, Tahli Ryder- Mitchell, Matilda Phillips.

 

Results:

 Men’s A: Sunshine Coast Black; Gold Coast; Sunshine Coast White

 Men’s B: Gold Coast; Sunshine Coast; Toowoomba

 Women’s A: Sunshine Coast; Gold Coast

 Women’s B: Sunshine Coast; Rockhampton; Gold Coast

Noosa Water Polo members Marco Magasic and Nick Sell were selected to represent Queensland Country in the men’s team, with Jayden Lee-Williams and Troy Park reserves.

Selected in the Queensland Women’s Country team were Kate Lee-Williams, Lily Merlo, Georgina Taylor, Kate Houston, Kelly Murphy and Kaitlyn O’Leary.
