River fest seeks sponsorship

The Noosaville Lions Park will play host to the first annual Noosa River Festival on May 16 and will be incorporated into the May Fiesta activities for the Sunshine Coast.

The Noosaville Association has enlisted the talents of well-known local personality Brendan Weatherill. Having successfully produced the first Thomas Street Festivals with the Noosaville Association and Noosa Council, Brendan will manage this event and envisions creating the best family event in Noosa.

Everyone is cordially invited to participate in the grand opening parade incorporating a multitude of local businesses, schools, rescue services, motor enthusiasts, sporting organisations and community groups. This form of advertising will enable you to promote community awareness of your corporation. Guest judges will allocate prizes for the most original floats and best-dressed individuals.

“One Dish Wonder” is the theme for restaurants that participate, with each restaurant asked to produce their signature dish, to be sold for $5 per plate. This does not restrict the amount of food items restaurants can produce and sell on the day. Prizes will be awarded, with the “One Dish Wonder” being judged by the public.

APN, Zinc 96.1, Sunshine Coast Regional Council, Tourism Noosa and the Noosaville Association are the first of many signing on for promotional sponsorship of the event.

Local businesses are asked to provide their expressions of interest in and support of the Noosa River Festival, enabling it to be as successful as anticipated by the event organisers.

To participate in Noosa’s newest, most exciting free public event and join in with the day’s entertainment, parade, sponsorship, stalls or activities, all questions should be directed personally to Brendan Weatherill on 0422 556 610 or by email to brendan_weatherill@hotmail.com.
