Man padlocks bra to clothesline

A NORTH Rockhampton man padlocked a bra to a clothesline as he stalked a woman for two months.

Scott Wayne Harney, 18, from North Rockhampton, this week pleaded guilty in Rockhampton Magistrates Court to unlawful stalking, trespass and burglary.

The court heard that several times between March 1 and the end of April, Harney visited a house in North Rockhampton and grabbed a woman's underwear.

On the first occasion he took underwear from a clothesline and threw it into the pool.

Another time he took underwear off a downstairs' clothesline and draped it over the upstairs rail landing.

On his third visit, Harney took a woman's bra and padlocked it to the clothesline.

During his last visit to the house, he went underneath the house and rifled through a laundry basket before slashing the tyre on a car with an unknown object.

He spoke to Rockhampton CIB officers on June 27 and made full admissions.

On Monday Magistrate Cameron Press ordered Harney attend counselling during his six months probation and no conviction was recorded.
