The verdict in the trial of Khmer Rouge prison chief Kaing Guek Eav will be handed down on Monday.
A FORMER Khmer Rouge prison chief has been found guilty of crimes against humanity and sentenced to 35 years' jail.
Kaing Guek Eav, also known as Duch, was convicted by Cambodia's UN-backed war crimes court on Monday, in the first international trial for atrocities committed under the late 1970s regime.
During the course of his 77-day trial, he admitted to heading Toul Sleng, a top secret detention centre for the worst "enemies" of the state.
More than 16,000 people passed through its gates before they were killed.
