The shooting was done and production was underway but then – tragedy struck.

The hard-working crew who toiled on the short film “Cyber Sin”, about how cyber-bullying could cause a teenage suicide, discovered this week that some of their attention-to-detail has been “compromised”.

The final scenes of the of the six-minute film were not to the quality of its earlier counterparts and needed to be re-shot.

Headlining star John Jarratt, of Wolf Creek fame, was not required but its three teenage stars had to return to costume and make-up last week at the Noosa Regional Library.

Director Matt Inglis with young stars Crimson Dunstan, Bryony Hynes and Renita Vermeulen spent from 8.30am nestled between books to get the final cut.

Producer Evette Henderson described yesterday’s swift film setting as “a second chance” and with film festival deadlines closing in, there was an urgency in the air.

“In terms of some of the audio and visuals, it was compromised on its quality and we cannot compromise on that,” she said.

The final shooting schedule coincided with police laying charges on a woman who is alleged to have created a Facebook hate page for Justine Jones whose body was discovered by police at Nambour tip last week.

Ms Henderson said for the teachers, parents and young people who view the film, which looks to be distributed to schools, it was a way to encourage them to realise what consequences can follow bad online behaviour.

“Whether it’s bullying that is physical, emotional or online, it moves quickly from the classroom,” she said.

“You can be targeted no matter where you are in the world.”
