STEPHEN Moyer and Anna Paquin have married.

The 'True Blood' co-stars - who announced their engagement earlier this month - got married on Saturday evening (21.08.10) in California.

According to Us Weekly magazine, the couple - who have been dating since filming the pilot episode of the vampire drama in 2007 - exchanged vows beneath a tent at a private residence across the street from the beach in Malibu.

Guests included actor Elijah Wood and the pair's fellow 'True Blood' co-star Carrie Preston along with her husband, 'Lost' actor Michael Emerson.

No further details were available at the time of writing.

British star Stephen - who portrays vampire Bill Compton to Anna's Sookie Stackhouse - recently admitted he decided to propose to the TV beauty earlier this month because it would be "ridiculous" to keep calling her his girlfriend.

Stephen - who has two children, Billy, 10, and Lilac, eight, from previous relationships, but has never been married before - said: "It got to the point where I just was thinking, 'You are calling somebody who you intend to stay with for the rest of your life your girlfriend."

He also revealed nobody was more shocked by his proposal than the 28-year-old beauty.

Joking that Anna needed medical attention after the proposal, he added: "I should have got the St. John Ambulance crew when I did it. She thought that it was something that I was never going to do."
