Grand finals are set to be close

Grand final day for the Noosa District Junior Winter Netball competition will be full of excitement this Saturday.

Games commence at 9am for Net Set Go players, the 12(1), 11 and 9-years divisions, while the 12(2) and 10 years grand finals will be at 10am.

All 9-years and Net Set Go players will be presented with medallions, while the competitive divisions will be presented with their trophies.

In the 10-years division, Cooroora Crazies will take on Tewantin Strawberry Smackers, who came away with the narrowest of victories last Saturday over Good Shepherd Fireflies 10-9.

The 11-years game will see a rematch of the nail-biting semi-final that was played between Good Shepherd Leaping Leopards and STM Angels two weeks ago, while the 12(2) division will be between Noosaville Yellow Panthers and Tewantin Lollypops, who just edged out Cooroora Wolves by one goal in the preliminary final.

The Eumundi Fillies were able to fend off a last quarter surge by the Good Shepherd Danozoes last Saturday who, with just three minutes left on the clock, drew equal to the Fillies for the first time in the match. However, the Eumundi girls rallied in the dying stages to take the game 27-23. Eumundi will now front up to STM Star Burstz in the 12(1) grand final.

As well, this Saturday is the break-up and trophy presentation afternoon for all representative players.

All rep players and families, rep coaches, managers, umpires and officials are invited from 1pm-4pm.
