The old song says it all – never let a chance go by – and certainly Tourism Noosa is going to lever every marketing advantage it can out of the presence of the nation’s top ironmen and ironwomen competing at Main Beach in early January.
“This is a great opportunity that highlights both Coolum and Noosa over the summer months to our key domestic markets,” said Tourism Noosa event manager Diane Ainsworth.
This includes live Sunday broadcasts including the January 9 Noosa series decider.
“In addition to the two events, Noosa will also play host to Network Ten’s Kellogg’s Nutri-Grain Ironman and Women series promotional advertisement that will be played over the entire summer promoting the series. Tourism Noosa will work extensively with all key sponsors to leverage their involvement including linking the event with the Australian PGA, also supported by Network Ten.”
Ms Ainsworth said the event provided Noosa with exceptional brand positioning leading into and during the summer months.
“The series will also be seen in our key international market of New Zealand as well as select Asian markets in the future.”
The series will feature the best 20 Kellogg’s Nutri-Grain talent in the nation, including Shannon Eckstein, Zane Holmes, Ky Hurst and Alicia Marriott racing for more than $300,000 in prize money.
Adding to the action will be a Legends of Surf series that will rewind the clock to the halcyon days of the sport bringing former heroes like Leech, Trevor Hendy, Grant Kenny, Darren Mercer, Guy Andrews and Clint Robinson back in competition in a relay format.
