Cain Pratt, pictured with Megan Andreassen and Mia Hacker looks forward to the Noosa Country Show.
Generous Pomona and greater Noosa volunteers have rallied around to ensure today and tomorrow’s Noosa Country Show goes on to new heights.
Show spokeswoman Mia Hacker said she had been blown away by the community spirit that had arisen to cover some 11th hour hiccups.
“What’s really struck me has been the willingness of people here to step forward and fill the breach after we’ve had some last minute withdrawals in our volunteer ranks,” Ms Hacker said.
“It really shows that there is a willingness in the community to make
sure that this event goes ahead, and to see some new faces is very exciting.
“Pomona is not that big a place, but it is not just the Pomona locals that make this happen. We have volunteers from down at (coastal) Noosa and even Coolum.”
Ms Hacker has fingers crossed the light showers forecast will quickly clear for what is looking like a fantastic final day tomorrow to showcase the Coast talent and celebrate Noosa’s country heritage.
Organisers are hoping for a bumper crowd of 8000.
“The rodeo on Saturday night is really popular. It drags a lot of people in,” she said.
“And the kids are really excited about the chance to go ice-skating in the rink set up on the tennis courts.”
Daytime features include the snakes and reptile awareness display, sheep shearing show from 10.30am, ice skating on the tennis courts, ute muster, junior art and art in the squash courts, dog show, and Zinc FM onsite broadcast from 6am today.
