THERE is good, or perhaps better, news from Unitywater.

Noosa Residents and Ratepayers' water rates project office Sue Kingston said Unitywater's billing system would change from six-monthly to quarterly, the organisation has set up its own call centre to receive complaints and has appointed a stakeholder relationship specialist.

"I've been very impressed with their co-operation," Ms Kingston said.

She noted that none of the 60 complaints that went before the Ombudsman were upheld.

Ms Kingston is the NRRA water rates project office.

In this role, and additionally as the NRRA's representative on the customer and community reference group, set up by Unitywater to assist with improving customer relations between consumers and Unitywater, she liaises between members of the community and Unitywater in the hope that better communication will ensure ratepayers receive the assistance they need in a timely manner.

On behalf of the Ratepayers Association, Ms Kingston attends meetings and receives Unitywater communiqués and news updates posted to the NRRA website.

Members who have unresolved issues with Unitywater, or who have any good news tales too, can contact Ms Kingston at the email address waterrates@noosaratepayers.org.au or call acting president Tony Haslam on 5449 8118.
