Michelle Kazukaitis and Pauline O’Sullivan have taken the allergy fear out of cooking.
FINDING creative solutions to "what's for dinner" every night is enough of a chore for most parents.
Add trying to find novel recipes when someone in the home has a food allergy and you're in a whole different cooking category.
But there is hope thanks to the ingenious brainwave of two Sunshine Coast mums.
It's called the Allergy Menu.
The Allergy Menu provides quick, innovative and nutritious recipes catering for most food allergies and intolerances.
Like most good ideas, it was born out of personal frustration.
Pauline O'Sullivan, of Bli Bli, found herself thrust into a world of focusing on every ingredient after her daughter, Emmanuelle, developed severe facial eczema.
She felt as though she had to learn a "degree in nutrition".
Ms O'Sullivan was desperate for a resource that would help put it all together, but the market did not have what she needed.
So she decided to create it herself. She joined forces with a long-time friend, Michelle Kazukaitis, and the Allergy Menu was born.
It took two years of planning and research before the Allergy Menu finally reached the stage where it could be launched online.
That's was nearly a month ago and already the women are capturing the imagination of the country.
With more and more people diagnosed with food allergies each year, it is likely the interest will escalate.
Subscription to the website, which covers more than 400 recipes, costs $9.95 a month. It is available at theallergymenu.com.
