YOUR local newsagency might look a lot brighter than normal.

And it should, with $60,000 worth of prizes up for grabs in the Sunshine Coast Daily's Daily Auction Dollars promotion.

Newsagents festooned with balloons and staff have been decked out in Daily shirts and balloons to promote the chance to bid on prizes ranging from holidays to a Toyota Yaris from Sunshine Toyota.

And no one is getting in the spirit of it better than Woodford News.

Female staff donned tropical grass skirts and even roped in Coast musician Kevin Brand for the celebration.

Coast newsagents are hoping the Daily Dollars promotion will bring more customers through their doors, promoting not only newspaper sales but retail business in general.

Each day, the Daily is giving away anything from $100 to $10,000 in Daily Dollars, which can be used in a mega-auction at the Daily on March 28.

The major prize is a Toyota Yaris ZR with seven airbags, an aerodynamic body kit, sporty front grille and alloy wheels.
