Brisbane Lions’ mascot graces the come-and-try day.
HUNDREDS of local primary school children jumped right in and "test drove" a range of sports at the Noosa free come-and-try sports session at Noosa District Sports Complex recently at Tewantin.
This healthy lifestyles partnership between Sunshine Coast Council, government (Sport and Recreation Services) and the Australian Sports Commission provided local kids with an opportunity to trial a range of sports, including tennis, soccer, rugby league, rugby union, touch football, AFL and netball with Noosa Lions FC, Noosa Dolphins, Tewantin Tennis Club, Noosa Touch, Noosa Junior Rugby League, Noosa AFL and Noosa Netball Club.
Noosa's own ex Wallaby star Peter Slattery and players of the Sunshine Coast Fire Football Club were part of the inspirational come-and-play day.
The local primary school-aged children who attended the free event came away with a sports showbag and local clubs were taking registrations for the winter season.
Kids had the chance to meet the coaches and importantly the day provided an opportunity for children to have fun trying their hand at some new sports.
