The Strokes.
FROM Mumford & Sons to Ben Harper, Scissor Sisters and Wolfmother, the 2010 Splendour in the Grass festival lineup boasts more than 80 bands. Having relocated to Woodfordia in Woodford for this year's festival from 30 July to 1 August, the 2010 Splendour in the Grass festival will be bigger and better than ever before.
Here are all the details:
Lineup (go to timetable)
Sold out.
The campground will be open to ticket-holders from noon on Wednesday 28 July. The actual festival site will be open from 4pm Thursday 29 July. Most venues excluding the main stages will be operating including food outlets.
There are no campgrounds or caravan parks in Woodford and sleeping in vehicles in local streets and roadsides is prohibited so camping is recommended.
General camping Information
On-site tent motel
Erected tents and beds will be available for hire on site at the festival. This service will be operated by a separate company. Details of the tent hire company will be available soon. People are required to purchase Splendour event-camping ticket first and then book the hire tent (at an additional cost).
Facilities
Toilet and shower facilities are adequately basic. Peak times for shower queues are in the mornings and later afternoons.
Campgrounds
Because of limited use it is not possible to provide perfectly level campsites with well manicured lawns. Several thousand trees have been planted in the camping grounds over the last five years but are mostly too small to provide good shade just yet.
Weather
The festival is conducted in the middle of winter. The weather can range from warm days (19° to 24°) through to chilly nights (3° to 9°). Campers should prepare accordingly, with a special note that warm clothing is still a must. Check out the weather forecast.
Water
Water is a precious commodity at Woodfordia as the site is self-sufficient and takes all its water from on-site tanks. Attendees are asked to conserve water in the following ways: limit of one shower a day, turn the water off while brushing teeth and bring water with them.
Suggestions for a comfortable campsite:
Consider the watercourse. When pitching a tent, consider where water will naturally flow in the event of rain.
Raise bedding off the ground. A fold-up camp stretcher allows air circulation and protects bedding from any water that may enter the tent. Keeping personal belongings off the ground is also a good idea – a fold-up chair makes a great wardrobe or table.
All tap water on-site is potable but for conservation and convenience attendees are asked to please bring all the water they’ll need for the duration.
There is no electricity available on-site for patron’s campsites unless they require it for life-support equipment (disabled camping area).
The campgrounds need to accommodate a large number of people so attendees are asked to please keep campsites small and conserve space wherever possible.
Limit one car per campsite in the campgrounds. Other cars should be parked in the front car park.
Theft can be a problem as at any large event, so it is advised to not bring anything of value to the festival other than what is absolutely necessary. All valuables remain the responsibility of the camper.
No fires or animals are allowed in the campgrounds or on the festival site.
Campsites near the festival entrance and in other areas hear music from the festival precinct until the late hours of the night and fellow campers may be up and about all day and night. Attendees are advised to bring earplugs if they are light sleepers.

Youth policy
With potentially 20,000 people camping on site and 30,000 in attendance overall, the safety and enjoyment of everyone at Splendour inthe Grass is very important. Particularly younger patrons.
To ensure a proper level of security and safety for all attending the festival, especially those who are under 18, Splendour has introduced a revised youth ticketing policy which forms part of the conditions of entry for both the event and camping areas. This policy is in line with other events held at Woodfordia.
Details of the policy are as follows:
For all the details on this policy see the Splendour in the Grass youth policy.
