Noosa Alive!

TEN days of music, theatre, food and thought begins this Friday, July 21 as Noosa Alive! (formerly the Noosa Long Weekend) kicks off.

Tickets are selling fast, but there are still some seats to shows available. Go to www.noosaalive.com.au for a full program of events.

King of the Mountain

ON SUNDAY, July 23 the King of the Mountain Festival is an all-day, fun-filled event at Pomona for the whole family.

The main race, an almost vertical climb up Mount Cooroora, is 2.30pm.

It is now flanked by a 3km family fun run, heritage markets, the primary school relay, tug-o-wars for school children and teams from local businesses and sports clubs, plus live music and rides.

Noosa Hill Climb

THE Noosa Hill Climb this weekend (July 23-24) is on the closed road inside the Gyndier Dr entrance off Cooroy-Noosa Rd, Tewantin. It is a speed event where one car and driver runs over a defined uphill, winding course, from a standing start, against the clock.

A street parade and a display of the cars will be held on Hastings St on Friday, July 21, from 3.30pm.

Hill Climb tickets are $15 for the day, $25 for the weekend and children under 14 are free.

Surf films

NOOSA National Surfing Reserve and Noosa Boardriders present two great films, The Shine with the best swell to hit Sunshine Beach, and the Noosa Boardriders film at Halse Lodge Noosa YHA, Halse Lane, Noosa Heads, on Wednesday, July 19, 5.30-8pm. Food and drink specials available before. Free admission.

Fire in the Sky

THIS free family event is on Saturday, July 22 in the Noosaville Lions Park. It is a full afternoon of entertainment from 3pm with a showcase of talent from Noosa Alive!

At 6pm the skies will come alive in a spectacular fireworks display.
