Nambour's rise as an event hub for the Sunshine Coast

NAMBOUR is on its way to becoming an event hub on the Coast.

The Nambour Showgrounds will host the South Queensland Caravan, Camping, Boating and Fishing Expo on March 28 and 29.

The expo is one of 11 to be held by Australian Events in key regional areas throughout Queensland and is expected to attract up to 12,000 people from across south Queensland.

There are more than 100 companies, including locals, already confirmed to showcase the latest camper trailers, caravans, motorhomes, four-wheel drives, utes, boats and motoring accessories with new-release 2014 model vehicles set to take centre stage.

Sunshine Coast councillor Greg Rogerson said events such as this at the showgrounds were paramount for the future of the venue and local business.

"It is a great event. Last year I went down and spoke to stallholders and they appreciate the crowd they get here," Cr Rogerson said.

"They really love to come to Nambour Showgrounds it is a great event for them."
