New recruit Amorette Wild thrilled to join the Firebirds

EX-SYDNEYSIDER Amorette Wild will be back in home territory when she lines up for the Queensland Firebirds tomorrow against the NSW Swifts in the trans-Tasman Championship.

The wing attack (pictured), who has stepped into the shoes of Australian representative Natalie Medhurst (now with West Coast Fever), said she was loving her time at her new club.

"Coming to the Firebirds has been the best decision of my netball career. Even though I've only been here for a few months I feel like a Queenslander," Wild said.

The 24-year-old has averaged almost 17 goals a game this season, combining well with star shooter Romelda Aiken. NSW will be without midcourter Taylah Davies who ruptured her ACL against the Thunderbirds on Monday night.

Round four games (home teams first): Sat: Steel v Fever; Sun: Swifts v Firebirds, Vixens v Magic, Pulse v Tactix, Mystics v Thunderbirds.
