Record-breaking baseball game lasts over six hours

JUST a few hundred diehard fans from an original crowd of 20,338 were still in the stands when Miami beat the New York Mets 2-1 in the longest game in Marlins franchise history yesterday.

The marathon took six hours and 25 minutes, and ended in the 20th inning when Miami's Adeiny Hechavarria hit an RBI single.

On the same day, Toronto beat Texas 4-3 in the 18th inning, matching the longest game for both teams.
