Sex offender Robert Fardon arrested in Brisbane

NOTORIOUS sex offender Robert John Fardon was arrested in Brisbane on Tuesday in relation to an alleged breach of the conditions of a supervision order.

The order was issued under the provisions of the Dangerous Prisoner (Sexual Offenders) Act 2003.

It is alleged he told another inmate he was planning an escape from the Wacol halfway facility where he is currently housed after his release earlier this year.

Fardon is in custody and the matter will be listed for an initial hearing in the Brisbane Supreme Court at a date to be determined. - APN NEWSDESK
