Accused puppy torturer released on bail after slashing dog

AN ACCUSED puppy torturer has been released on bail following a frenzied attack in Sydney's west.

Mason, a five-month-old pit bull terrier, was allegedly slashed repeatedly with a knife at a Bidwill backyard in the early hours of Monday morning.

He was rushed to a vet but was expected to be euthanised.

A 21-year-old woman has been charged with torture, beat and seriously injure animal.

She will appear in the Mt Druitt Local Court on March 25.
