Assault accused shocked to hear charges he faced

JEREMY Jay Smith, a 17-year-old Glenwood man accused of a violent home invasion at Bells Bridge on August 2, appeared shocked when he was told in Gympie Magistrates Court on Monday that he faced 10 charges relating to the alleged crime.

He faces arson and assault charges.

Smith, whose bail was refused last Friday, was remanded in custody and will appear in Gympie Magistrates Court again on August 25 via video link from prison.
