Aussie not overawed by UFC opponent

MMA: There will be no doubt Derek Brunson will look to take out Aussie Robert Whittaker early in their headline middleweight bout at UFC Fight Night 101 in Melbourne on Sunday.

It's what the No.6-ranked American does to his opponents, having won his past four fights by first-round knockouts. One more and he will have the record for most consecutive opening-round stoppages in the UFC.

In total, the 32-year-old has spent just over seven minutes combined in the ring during a five-bout winning streak dating back to 2014.

Whittaker, ranked 11th in the division, is far from overawed, however, and is ready for "the biggest fight” of his career.

"We're both going to go out there and put it all on the line ... trying to take each other's blocks off,” said the 25-year-old, who is originally from New Zealand. "It should be fun.”
