Australia Post stands its ground on Maccas mail deliveries

AUSTRALIA Post is standing its ground on mail delivery issues with McDonald's boss Marc Smoorenburg saying it continues to deliver mail to his private box at Stockland Rockhampton.

Australia Post met with Mr Smoorenburg in August last year to discuss his mail delivery arrangements.

An Australia Post spokeswoman yesterday said the company delivered Mr Smoorenburg's mail to the shopping centre on a daily basis.

"Under no circumstances would we withhold his mail and we categorically deny any allegations of doing so," the spokeswoman said.

"Australia Post is required by law to deliver the mail as it is addressed and in a manner that complies with all relevant state and territory legislation. We deliver to 11.2 million delivery points around Australia every day and our customers are well aware that it is their responsibility to collect their mail and clear their PO boxes after delivery."
