Bluesfest pricing sparks complaints

AS THE line-up grows for Bluesfest 2011, so do the cheers but, as with anything, there are also a few grumbles along the way.

It’s not the line-up itself that’s drawing the grizzle of the punters, it’s the sixth day and its fantastic line-up.

“If any artists are only appearing on the sixth day it definitely [sic] feels like we as five-day holders are being punished for being too eager and not waiting,” posted Andjel on the Bluesfest website’s forum.

Heading the sixth-day line-up, in his second slot on the schedule, is Bob Dylan.

Elvis Costello and Grace Jones have also taken up the offer, but it’s the addition of Paul Kelly and Tim Finn, who only play that day, the Anzac Day public holiday slot, that has annoyed punters online.

“I know that my husband and I bought the five-day tickets because it guaranteed an opportunity to see every artist,” nadiavenus posted on the forum.

Festival director Peter Noble said the world-class acts billed for day six warranted an extra cost and those who don’t want to pay are “tight arses”.
