Victim named as woman faces court for murder

A WOMAN was in tears as she stood in a packed court room to be charged with the murder of a man in Andergove on Sunday.

Peta Louise Ansford, 40, was charged with the murder of Luke Phillip Mitchell, 39 in a brief hearing in Mackay Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Ms Ansford entered no plea.

Magistrate Damien Dwyer told the court Ms Ansford would be remanded in custody to appear before the Mackay Magistrates Court on July 26 for a committal mention.
