BREAKING: Woman charged with murder over death of man

A WOMAN has been charged over the death of a 39-year-old man in Andergrove at the weekend.

Police arrested the 40-year-old woman on Tuesday afternoon and charged her with one count of murder.

Mackay CIB officer in charge Detective Senior Sergeant David Tucker said post mortem results revealed that the man had died from a single stab wound to the chest.

He said detectives had located what they believed was a weapon during forensic investigations on Tuesday.

The woman will appear in the Mackay Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning.

The man was found dead early Sunday morning at a house in Bedford Rd, Andergrove.
