AFTER hearing he was one of the Lions players chosen to promote Brisbane ballet production Coppelia, defender Pearce Hanley left all his reservations behind.

"We were under the impression there'd be some girls here … there were a few pirouettes in there that could come in handy for footy," he said.

"But it was all boys."

That still didn't dull the Irishman's enthusiasm for teaching the lads some new footy skills, alongside Lions teammate Brent Moloney.

The results, as shown in the video captured, attracted plenty of laughs.

Set in the small South Australian town of Hahndorf, Coppelia is a ballet inspired by Australian history and will include an AFL-inspired scene.

Coppelia will run from April 24 to May 10 at the Playhouse, QPAC.

The Lions will take on the Sydney Swans in their final pre-season hit-out at Burpengary, in Brisbane's north, tomorrow.

The Lions have named an almost full-strength squad of 27, including former captain Jonathan Brown, who is expected to play a half.
