Bubbly Wines uncorks Port excitement
AFL: Call it a glass-half-full mentality, but Ollie Wines has already seen the positives of Travis Boak being sidelined for Port Adelaide clash with Brisbane.
With Boak battling a hamstring strain, the young midfield bull is in line to captain the the Power at the Gabba on Saturday.
"He will step up pretty well. I think he will be pretty excited by it,” Power assistant coach and former Lions skipper Michael Voss said of Wines (pictured).
"Boaky already reckons he (Wines) has already taken over on Monday, he's saying 'wait until everything comes in before you start getting too excited'.
"Hopefully the boys get a little bit excited for him and I know he will bring the energy for us.”
Port expects half-back Hamish Hartlett, who was a late withdrawal from last Friday night's win against Carlton because of a thigh injury, to return against the Lions.
Jack Hombsch is also set to return from knee injury.
