Caloundra menswear store destroyed by morning fire

IT took 22 firefighters 90 minutes to bring a Caloundra store fire under control this morning.

Six fire crews were called to business on the corner of Bulcock St and Minchinton St at 4.55am.

The store, believed to be a menswear store, was well involved internally upon arrival.

"They knocked down most of the fire after 6am," a Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) spokeswoman said.

"We're still monitoring hot spots inside the building."

Nearby properties were protected.

The QFES were supported by the Queensland Police Service, Queensland Ambulance Service and Energex.

Fire investigators will visit the scene today.
