Cecil Plains teen recovering from crash that killed mate
A CECIL Plains teenager is recovering at home from injuries suffered in a crash that killed 20-year-old Jamie Stickler.
Mr Stickler, originally from Gympie, had been living in the Cecil Plains area for only a short time when he was killed in a crash near Surat in the early hours of Friday morning.
He and Cecil Plains 15-year-old Jake Baillie were travelling on Surat Developmental Rd when their ute rolled about 1.50am.
Mr Stickler died at the scene.
Jake managed to call for help before he was airlifted by the Surat Basin Gas Industry Aeromedical Service to Toowoomba Hospital to be treated for head and neck injuries.
Jake's mother yesterday said her son did not wish to talk to media about his ordeal, only saying he had been discharged from hospital.
