THE Sunshine Coast Choral Society will present its annual concert of Christmas music on Sunday, December 11, at St Mark's Anglican Church, Buderim.

Music Director Adrian King has put together a program of traditional and new carols, hymns and music on the theme of "A Christmas Journey".

Several of the choristers contributed ideas for the program, which will feature a guest conductor and other guests.

The soloist for the concert is Ipswich-based vocalist, choral conductor and arts administrator Thomas Keenan.

He is the musical director of the highly successful Ipswich Orpheus Chorale.

Keenan has performed a number of stage roles including The Major General in The Pirates of Penzance; Pooh-Bah in The Mikado and King Arthur in Spamalot.

He has also appeared in several professional concert productions, including the Scotland the Brave series with the Queensland Pops Orchestra.

Keenan will be singing some works with the choir as well as singing solos he has selected specially for the concert.

The audience will be invited to join in some of the singing and enjoy light refreshments at the end of the concert.

Tickets are available at the door one hour before the concert. Inquiries to 54562667.
