Claim Australians bid for Cubbie

UP TO a dozen Australian bids were lodged to buy Cubbie Station since a Chinese-led consortium was approved to take over the nation's largest cotton farm, the ABC has reported.

But several stories by the public broadcaster relied on conversations with a single source, comments which could not be verified by others.

The source told ABC Radio that he had been told about 12 bids from Australian companies for the farm had been lodged.

But neither the company handling the station's administration nor the publicity firm for the company confirmed the statements.
