Classic cars will put on a show

RECORD crowds are expected to turn out for one of the largest classic car displays on the Sunshine Coast at the 25th anniversary of the Noosa Beach Classic Car Show, proudly supported by RACQ.

Scores of classic cars will take part in a royal themed motorcade through Hastings Street for the Queen's Birthday long weekend on September 30.

"More than 150 cars will take part, with drivers in period costume, celebrating classic cars through the ages," said Noosa Beach Classic Car Club president Garry Bates.

"There will be a special focus on the motoring "royalty" of Rolls-Royce and Bentley with one of the highlights the 1967 Rolls-Royce Phantom V, which was used to drive Queen Elizabeth II during her 1973 visit to Sydney.
