Soundcheck done, Coast music festival ready to rock!

Sound check is done and the first Airwaves Festival concert is ready to go.

The live music drive-in event is sure to rock the doors off the hundreds of music lover's vehicles at the Nambour Showgrounds.

Sunshine Coast product Sahara Beck is excited to be performing to a live audience again.

"I am really excited to be involved in this gig which is a creative way to bring gigs back.

"I think it is going to be cool."

Without having an audience in front of her, Beck was looking forward to seeing how the audience engages with her.

"Maybe I'll get some hi-beams, or a little toot-toot every now and again," she said.

"They might rev the engines if they want an encore."

Like so many other artists, Beck was glad to be playing live music again after the COVID restrictions set in.

"When they all got cancelled for the whole year, that was scary," she said.

"All the shows got pulled and nobody knew when we could go back."

"I thought, 'how am I going to pay rent and food?" she said.

"The few weeks there are gigs coming back, everyone is keen to get out and watch live music."

Joining Sahara Beck on stage are Toxic Fox and The Dreggs.

On Saturday, July 11 sees Being Jane Lane, Bugs and the Chats rock the stage.

Sunday night's gig has been cancelled due to border restrictions.
