Comic classics make a comeback
FINALLY, it is cool to be a comic book geek again.
The recent DC reboot of 52 of its original comics has brought diehard fans back out of the woodwork and has attracted some bright new faces (we girls included) who want to see what all the fuss is about.
And you better be quick if you want to get your hands on that number one issue of your favourite comic.
Sales of the new 52 reboots, including the new Justice League of America number one edition as well as Action Comics number one, are booming at Toowoomba's comic book store Kaboom.
Kaboom owner Todd Baillie said it is not just happening in Toowoomba - it is a worldwide phenomenon.
"I was in London when JLA number one was released and just managed to get my hands on a copy," he said. "I went back (to The Forbidden Planet) the next day and there was none left. It's been a massive sellout across the world."
Mr Baillie said the store was currently waiting on second reprints of Action Comics number one and a third and possibly a fourth reprint of JLA number one.
"It may break a record. We haven't seen that since Spiderman number one was released in the early 90s," he said.
