Cooper's conversion fail sees Reds draw with Western Force

QUADE Cooper's missed conversion ensured Perth continued to be an unhappy hunting ground for the Queensland Reds after the 11-all draw against the Western Force on Saturday night.

Cooper had the opportunity to win the game, but his 75th-minute conversion from near the right touchline sailed wide.

The Queenslanders third draw of the season, and second in the past three games, means they have now won just once in five games in Perth since the Force joined the competition in 2006 - that lone victory, 24-21, was in round 17 in 2011.

The Force, who had also beaten the Reds in the two previous meetings between the sides, led 11-3 heading into the final quarter of the game before Cooper kicked a penalty to reduce the arrears.

Replacement back Chris Feauai-Sautia got the Reds back on level terms when he crashed over to score the Queenslanders first five-pointer against the host after 153 minutes of trying this season, but Cooper missed the shot at goal.

The Reds play the Sharks, a team which has won the past three encounters between the sides, at Suncorp Stadium on Friday before heading to South Africa for two games.
