CRIKEY! Irwins showcasing Lady Elliot Island

BETWEEN hosting the Irwins, working to promote environmentally sustainable practice and Christmas quickly approaching, there's never a dull moment at Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort.

The Irwins have recently been to Lady Elliot Island to film for their program Crikey! It's the Irwin's.

Lady Elliot Island Eco Resort's Amy Gash said it was always a pleasure to host the Irwin family at the island.

"They are fantastic ambassadors for conservation and the Great Barrier Reef," Ms Gash said.

"It was great working with the team and we're honoured to have made it into their second season of Crikey! It's the Irwin's."

While the episode has not aired yet in Australia, it was played on the weekend in the USA and already the resort is feeling the love from fans across the world.

"Lady Elliot Island has always been a popular destination for the USA market, some of this popularity can be contributed from the Irwin family's great support of Lady Elliot Island," she said.

"Each year, we are seeing an increase of visitors from the USA market.

"Our reservations team and website did experience an increase in inquiries from the USA on Sunday after the show was aired."

Ms Gash said thanks to the relationships they had built with the Irwin family and the Wildlife Warriors they had been privileged to receive incredible exposure in the global market.

"Not only is this amazing for our publicity worldwide but it's also critical for the Great Barrier Reef and its conservation."

The episode is due to air in Australia last night on Animal Planet, Foxtel.
