Crime and Corruption Commission to investigate Pisasale

THE Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) says it has finished assessing allegations relating to Ipswich Mayor Paul Pisasale and has commenced an investigation into these matters.

The CCC said it wanted to remind the public that "everyone is entitled to the presumption of innocence and all allegations should be treated as unsubstantiated until a final outcome is reached."

As the investigation is ongoing, the CCC said it would not comment further.

Ipswich Mayor Paul Pisasale responded to the CCC statement saying: "There is a level of frustration not knowing what or who prompted the investigation.

"I've assured the CCC of my full cooperation at all times," he said.

"I understand this is standard practice for matters of this type.

"In the meantime I'm getting on with the job of being Mayor of Ipswich."
