Daily hits mark with readers, according to EMMA

THE Sunshine Coast Daily is attracting more and more readers, making it one of the best performing newspapers in the country.

Readership figures provided by EMMA - the new independently-audited readership metric - shows that readers are delighted with the Daily's efforts.

The latest results reflect the year-on-year numbers for the first six months of 2014.

The Monday to Friday average readership of the Daily grew by 8000 or 13%.

Saturday's readership grew 5000 or 9%.

Acting Editor Damian Bathersby (pictured) said he was delighted with the numbers.

"This shows our readers appreciate the hard work that the entire Sunshine Coast Daily team puts in," he said.

"These figures include our website traffic, print and mobile readers.

"People are enjoying the variety of ways they can access the Daily.

"Our website traffic is one of the huge success stories," he said.

"July figures reflect our great coverage, with more than two million page views.

"Mobile traffic is also a tremendous result, with 907,601 page views.

"And in a tough print circulation market the Daily is in the top 10 best daily newspaper performers in the country.

"We work hard at providing news and information that readers want and our results show they are happy with our efforts.

"These numbers are a tribute to our team here," he said.

"It is also a great result for advertisers who now have more people than ever looking at their products.''
