Decision drags on for Forest Glen sand mine
THE WAIT for a verdict on whether a 100 hectare sand mine will be given the green light at Forest Glen looks set to continue.
The Sunshine Coast Council extended its decision deadline until July 22, the day after this month's ordinary council meeting, however that deadline looks set to be pushed back.
The Daily understands the proposal by Maroochydore Sands Pty Ltd to develop a sand quarry on the site bordering Eudlo Creek and close to Montessori International College will not come before the council in two weeks' time.

Instead it appears more likely to be scheduled in for August-September, although an exact date is still unclear.
Maroochydore Sands director Michael Mullins understood July was off the table but was unsure when the proposal would be debated by the council.

Stop the Maroochy Sand Mine Action Group spokesman Mike Perritt said he'd heard nothing concrete at this stage on when the proposal would be heard.
"I guess we'll find out more tomorrow (Friday, when the council's July agenda is released)," he said.
