Dolphins rewarded for good form with Heelers rugby selection

RAY WHITE Noosa Dolphin players have been rewarded for their 2018 consistency with selection in the Queensland Country Heelers squads.

Noosa A-grade captain Brandon Mayhew and Dave Grant were named in the open squad following last weekend's selection trials in Townsville.

The Under-19 Country selectors were clearly impressed, with five Noosa Colts - Tom McAneney, Nick Aylward, Will Christie, Matt Kelly and Ethan Wikiara - named in the squad.

Capping off these selections was the naming of Christie as Under-19 Country captain following impressive displays in both the under-19 and open trials.

Dolphins president Donald McKill was particularly pleased with the performance of the under-19 players.

"This age group has been performing very well for the past couple of years and to have such a high representation is a credit to their whole team and coaching staff, who have been guiding them during this time,” he said.

"The Ray White Dolphinspride ourselves on nurturing and developing players from juniors to the open grades and this has been the cornerstone of our club's success over the years.

"All five Colts selected have been long-time players at our club and we are proud of their achievements.”

The Dolphins play Caloundra at Caloundra this weekend in the top-of-the-table clash.
