Drew Barrymore’s ex busts her on dating site
DREW BARRYMORE has opened up about her epic fail at trying to find love in the digital age.
Speaking on the The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Friday, Barrymore, said ever since she was a teenager, she'd "fantasised about going on a blind date" but couldn't because of her fame.
So the actress, 42, who currently stars in Netflix series The Santa Clarita Diet, finally plucked up the courage to sign up to a private dating site Raya.
"I heard Amy Schumer saying she met her boyfriend on there, so I went on and no one responded," she said.
Barrymore has been single for more than 18 months after separating from her third husband, Will Kopelman in early 2016.
The mother of two said: "I texted with this one guy and said, 'Okay, sure, if you feel inclined to go for a drink, that'd be great. But zero pressure.' I never got a response."
Another potential match said he could meet up one night, so she told him when she was available. "It's like as lame as it gets! He writes me back and he goes, 'Oh, I'm gone for the holidays'. And that was it," She laughed.
The actress then gave up, immediately calling it quits on the site, removing her profile. Or so she thought.
"Later on, I was in the kitchen with Will (her ex) and he goes "I just saw your profile. It came up on my phone." she told Ellen.
"I go "When?" and he says, Like two days ago."
The actress had Ellen and the audience in stitches at this point. "I was like, Motherf*****! I'm still on it! I'm still trying to get off the site!"
The actress continued having fun with Ellen, playing dress-ups and telling her how much she misses the warm L.A. weather. "You know, coming back to this weather, I really feel like an idiot moving."
She currently lives in New York with her daughters Olive, 5 and Frankie, 3.
