Sunday driver three times legal limit after Bilambil crash

A 24-YEAR-old woman has tested three times the legal drinking limit after crashing her car at Bilambil on the weekend.

About 3 pm on Sunday police were called to a motor vehicle accident on Bilambil Rd.

A woman driving north east in a Toyota Corrolla had collided with a rock wall, crossed a lane of oncoming traffic, and come to rest on the other side of the road.

The woman was not injured and did not hit any oncoming vehicles.

She submitted to roadside alcohol test which returned a positive result.

She was taken back to Tweed Heads Police station where she allegedly returned an 0.181 prescribed concentration of alcohol (PCA) reading.

She was charged with high range drink driving and her licence was immediately suspended.

She will front Tweed Heads Local Court on July 20.
